BEER, CIDER, & CHEESE
Updated: Aug 13, 2018
These are a few of my fav-ou-rate things!
It's that time of year again, the run up to our annual Beer, Cider, & Cheese festival. We are busy getting everything prepped and ready for the big do, so to celebrate and get things hype hype hyped up, we are going to announce daily a beer that we will be hosting at our festival! There aren't enough days for all the beers we'll have, especially if Stuart doesn't stop buying more, so there will still be lots of surprises in store.
So let's get started!
Beer #1: Ainsty Ales, Cool Citra, Single Hop American Pale Ale, 4.4%
Tasting Notes: A refreshing summer ale; Cool Citra is a single hopped IPA, straw in colour. It has intense tropical nose with a crisp and bitter finish.
Single hopped means one hop is used throughout the various stages of the brewing process, providing the aroma, flavour and bitterness to the beer. Single hop beers are great because they really showcase the hop, in this case the Citra Hop.
Brewery: Ainsty Ales; an independent brewery based within the York wapentake. What is a wapentake you say? (in the UK) a subdivision of certain northern and midland English counties, corresponding to a hundred in other counties.
Their ethos? To provide a great range of craft-ales, to support local businesses, local charities & the local economy. Couldn't ask for more from a brewery!
